I took a step into the darkness while holding an orange, glowing creature under my arm…
A gust of cold wind hit my face and rushed along my cheeks and ears…
I shivered for a moment then took my next steps towards the silent street…
After a few steps in the darkness, I stopped and gently put the orangey creature to the ground…
“You stay here my friend… hahaha…” – thought it while we were smiling at each other for a quick second…
Then I stepped out to the street and glanced back at the funny orange creature with 3 teeth…
Turned my head again towards the windy, spooky street…
…and I excitedly started my first Halloween “trick or treat” adventure with my amazing little family…
It was such a fun family evening… 🙂
Always a blessing to have fun and happy quality time with the family, don’t you think…?
You might wonder if I had so much fun why I put “scary stuff” into the subject of this email…
Would you like to know?
Besides the Halloweeny pun it refers to the scary thing that’s happening every day…
In 2013, forbes.com published an article by an expert at Sophos Labs…
…that were saying average 30,000(!) websites were hacked every day…
It’s crazy, isn’t it?
Since that year the number of websites hacked per day probably went up to 60,000-90,000…
Shockingly huge, don’t you think?
Let me quote the other quite eye opening fact from the article…
“…in reality the majority of these … sites are legitimate small businesses that are unwittingly distributing malicious code for the cyber criminals…”
A lot of people think that their website is small so cyber criminals have no reason to target them…
The fact, cyber criminals have automated programs scanning the web for vulnerable websites…
These programs don’t care about if your website is small or massive, new or old, blog or online shop, personal or business…
…they hack into EVERY vulnerable website to spread their malicious code…
No matter small or big… I like keeping my websites secure… how about you?
Not long ago we were helping a small company to fix their hacked website…
It cost them $1,291 and huge stress…
Plus they probably lost a few new clients and damaged their reputation while their website was offering pills and adult products…
After that incident I put together a training of the steps that I always take to protect my websites…
…and myself from losing $1,291 or more…
So far… none of my websites were hacked thankfully for these steps…
Also… One of the tips has a hidden benefit as well… besides protecting your website it will boost your Google ranking (SEO) too…
Would you like to know how I protect my websites…? Are you interested in how you can do that too without any coding…?
