This marketing strategy is quite popular because even giving away a simple software can generate a HUGE amount of quality leads. You can do this two ways.
One of them is hiring a programmer developing your own interactive tool and offering that for free. Even though this might seem a huge work, it can pay off well because it can generate you loads of leads.
In some cases, giving away a simple tool can even generate over a million email sign-ups. And the other way you can leverage this marketing strategy is by partnering up with a software company…
…and giving away their free software away for leads. If you can find a relevant tool for your audience, this method can save you the hassle of development.
And if you’re thinking about why a 3rd-party software company would do this, here’s two reasons: for leads and money.
For example, through you, they can generate leads as well who potentially will upgrade to their paid tools later. And another way is they may whitelabel their software to you for money.
Strategy no. 2: Add Lead Generation Forms In Your Videos.

Send something surprising, exciting, unique that grabs their attention and they may even share it and talk about it. Here’s an idea that can give you some inspiration.
I was listening to one of the episodes of the Marketing Secrets podcast and Russell Brunson shared a story.
He was preparing for the launch of a new marketing product and he wanted to get the influencers on board as affiliates to accelerate the campaign.
So, he recorded about 200 personalised video messages and they sent those as video brochures in direct mail.
If you haven’t seen a video brochure yet, imagine it like a physical brochure that has a screen inside and people can watch the pre-uploaded video message on it.
As it is quite a unique creative direct mail, it can be really impressive. Although, it has a higher initial investment, when this strategy is used properly, it can generate HUGE return on investment.
Okay, strategy no. 4: Share An Interesting Side Project.
Sometimes, the best leads don’t come from your marketing that is directly related to your business. there are times when you get the best leads via a side project.
Let me share with you a story. Years ago, Noah Kagan challenged himself to start a side business and make $1,000 in the first 30 days.
He came up with 3 ideas and asked his email list to vote on which one he should do. His audience voted for him to do a new beef jerky subscription business as the challenge.
After that, Noah set up specific rules. He was not allowed to use any of the resources of his successful business; the new business couldn’t be related to his existing business.
And he had to start from scratch and only could work on the side project for 1-2 hours a day. Along the way, he kept sharing his journey related to that side project.
Besides the fact that he successfully completed the challenge and made the $1,000 in 30 days. He also generated a lot of leads and clients from the people who followed his journey.
Including me as well. I signed up for his email list and even bought something from him later. It is definitely a creative lead generation strategy that makes a lot of sense exploring.
Strategy no. 5: Create A Surprising Quiz.
Online quizzes are not new but with a creative spin, they can be really powerful lead generation assets.
For example, when your quiz contains surprising, playful, and fun questions still related to your business and to your target audience…
…it will be compelling for your potential leads to answer the questions and put their email address in to get the result of the quiz. In some cases, a simple quiz can even generate over 100,000 leads.
