“Welcome, Freedom Hero!
Today, we are going to focus on the top 5 focus points in marketing. It is one of the most important digital marketing strategies that any entrepreneur can use to achieve bigger success more efficiently.
My name is Istvan Bujdoso and this is The 47 Marketing Show that reveals smart tips and efficiency hacks for busy entrepreneurs to get more marketing done in less time. And now let’s dive into the focus points.
Number 1: The 45/10 Rule. Let me ask you a question: Have you ever felt this way after a long day?
You finished the day, you worked on many marketing and business activities, yet, you felt like you had achieved nothing. How about this? Does this sound familiar?
You pushed yourself hard on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, you felt off and low on energy. Then Thursday it got better, but by the end of the week, you were completely exhausted.
And may even question yourself why you do your business. If you’ve ever felt those things, you’re not alone with it. Most solopreneurs and even entrepreneurs go through that at some point on their journey.
The good news is, you can choose a different way.
With the following simple strategy, you can achieve more day by day and at the same time, you will still have great energy at the end of the days and weeks.
This simple strategy is working for 45 minutes, hyper-focused, and then taking a 10-minute real break. Repeating that cycle for 4 times. Then, taking an hour break. And after that doing another 4 cycles.
And that’s it for a normal day. I told you, it is simple. At the same time, it is highly effective.
I’ll tell you a bit more about the two parts of the cycles so you can see how and why this strategy works so well in marketing and business. The first part is the 45-minute hyper-focused work session.
This means focusing on only one task at a time from start to finish. No jumping back and forth between tasks. Just focusing on one task.
If you have a bigger project in your hands, break it up into small parts that can fit into a 45-minute hyper-focused session. Besides that, turn off every possible distraction.
Things like, emails, phone, Facebook, Zoom, Skype, chat, and so on. Focus only on the task at hand.
And even set yourself a 45-minute timer at the beginning of each session, so checking the time won’t be a distraction. Once a hyper-focused work session is up, take a 10-minute real break.
Which is the second part of the cycle. That break is for resting your mind. Which means stand up from your desk, leave your phone, and any type of screens.
Do some stretches, go for a short walk, drink some water. Rest. Take a real break. If you need to communicate via calls, and emails, and chats.
Schedule a focused session specifically for communication.
All parts of the cycle are really important: the 45-minute hyper-focused work session and the 10-minute real break as well. Repeat that cycle for 4 times at the beginning of your working hours.
Then, take an hour real break. And after that do another 4 cycles. And that’s it for a normal day.
The combination of those focused sessions and real breaks makes it possible to achieve more day by day and at the same time, still have great energy at the end of the days and weeks.
So far, we went through HOW to focus and WHY. And now, let’s move on the next focus points. Which are all about WHAT to focus on to get more marketing and business done in less time.
Focus point #2: Efficient Wins. The quickest one is eliminating marketing and business activities that take up a lot of your time and the same time they bring very little or no results at all.
That way you can free up resources quickly and use those in better ways.
Another efficient win, is focusing on an activity first, or a part of it, that can be done with the smallest resources and at the same time, it will bring you the biggest results.
And keep choosing your focus with this mindset day by day.
And the next efficient win is creating leverage in your marketing and business, which simply means that you focus on creating things that your business only needs to create ONCE…
…and you can leverage it MANY times. These can be things like, digital products, softwares, online courses, or even services.
To make it an even more efficient win, focus on using only a minimum of your ongoing efforts. And the following points are all about WHAT to focus on to achieve that.
Number 3: Automations. Focus on leveraging as many automations as it makes sense in your marketing and business. Initially, they may require somewhat more resources to set them up.
But in long term, automation free up some of your time and they do the work a lot more efficiently and reliably than humans can.
Number 4: Delegation. Some of the marketing and activities are not possible to automate.
But it’s possible to focus on using only a minimum of your own ongoing efforts. Just to give you an example, an idea: Grow your team with part or fulltime freelancers…
…and instead of you doing repetitive activities pass those on to your team. So you can have more free time to implement the focus points from this episode while the ongoing work gets done as well.
The next focus point that can help you to get more marketing done in less time is #5: Processes. Simply put, these are guides that explain what, how, when it needs to be done, and by whom.
This helps new team members to get up to speed really quickly without you needing to spend your valuable time to teach them on multiple Zoom calls.
It’s not only great for new members, it also helps existing team members as well. They can check out those process guides any time, and as many times as they need it without bothering you.
And of course, the biggest benefit is for you. You can step away from time-consuming marketing and business activities with the peace of mind that your team will do it properly and efficiently.
