Working with clients and managing a growing business requires your undivided attention and dedication. So many times entrepreneurs feel stressed out managing their businesses and I can completely relate to them. 

There was a time when I didn’t like working with the set of clients I had. My business was profitable, I had clients, but I wasn’t happy.

This is why understanding who your dream clients are is important in lead generation.  When you know the right clients for your business, it would be easy to develop lead generation strategies that specifically target them.

Today, I’m going to share with you nine questions that dramatically changed my lead generation from its foundations to the top of it, every single part of it…
If I could go back in time and teach something to my younger self, this would be one of those things…
My name is Istvan Bujdoso and this The 47 Marketing Show…
In 2017, I read the “DotComSecrets” for the first time…
Russell Brunson, the author, tells a story at the beginning of the first secret that he woke up one morning, his muscles ached even though he had not worked out…
His stomach felt like the flu but he wasn’t sick. And his mind was wishing he would have a boss who could fire him and end his nightmare…
But Russell was running his own company, it was profitable but he felt miserable…
I could completely relate to his story because when I was reading the book in 2017, I felt like that most of the mornings. And when I continued reading his story, I had a huge ah-ha moment…
Just like him, I didn’t like working with the clients I was helping around that time, they exhausted me and I ended up feeling miserable…
On the next pages, I found 4 questions that were the key, the way out of that misery. And that was the first set of questions that made a dramatic change in my lead generation…
Here are these questions…
The first question is WHO do you want to serve?
The book talked about an exercise that felt a bit silly at first glance: imagining your dream client, man or woman, how old they are, what their personality is like…
…what their values are, what they already achieved, and similar things…
Even imagining how they look like and finding an image on Google of that imagined person, making up a name for them and writing all that down. It felt silly but I did it anyway and it clarified a lot of things…
And the next question in the set is HOW to find them? Figuring out where they hang out online, if they prefer watching videos, or listening to podcasts, or reading…
And what type of contents they are already consuming what their interests are and writing down all sorts of details like that…
The third question is WHAT bait will attract them? Based on knowing who they are, finding out what bait will motivate them to give you their email address…
…and turn into your leads and in what format: an eBook, or a video, or a physical book, or something else…
And based the knowledge, where you can find them, figuring out how to put the bait in front of them. Okay, the last question is WHERE you want to take them?
This is defining what they will ACHIEVE with your help, and using your service or product as the vehicle to get there. Are you following this so far?
Answering these 4 questions in details not only helped us to find dream leads, it also helped getting more leads and working with ideal clients…

As I mentioned at the beginning, these questions have a huge impact on EVERY part of lead generation. In a few minutes, we’ll get back to HOW that happens…
For now, let’s continue with the rest of the questions. Those 4 questions brought us the FIRST BIG change…
And then, in 2019, I bumped into 5 more questions that took our lead generation to the next level. One day, I was sitting in the office and skimming through my emails…
A subject line caught my attention from a familiar sender. So I opened the email and there was it, the announcement of a new book I was waiting for…
A blue underlined text took me to the order page with a click of a button and about 2 weeks later I was holding the “Copywriting Secrets” book in my hand…
It was the perfect timing because I was planning to write 20-30 new copies soon: follow up emails, sales copies, and others…
What I didn’t expect was that it would spark the rebuilding of the fundamentals of our lead generation but that’s what it did. I ended up changing our target audience to an even better one…
Secret 8 in the book is called “Meet F.R.E.D (Your Ideal Customer).”
In that chapter, there are two doodles that illustrate 4 questions. On the first doodle, just imagine two cliffs, apart from each other, and there’s a huge gap between the two…
On the cliff, on the left side, a stick-man is standing, it’s a lead, he has Problems, Questions, and Roadblocks…
And on the other cliff, there’s the Result he wants but he can’t get there because of the gap between the two cliffs. Does this make sense so far?
On the second doodle, you can see the same things plus a bridge between the two cliffs that says, “Sales Copy” on it…
Illustrating that the sales copy helps the lead to get from their Problems, Questions, and Roadblocks to the Results they want. At that moment, when I saw it, I had another ah-ha moment…
And, it led me to realize how important it is to know the detailed answers to those questions about our dream leads. What PROBLEMS do they have? What QUESTIONS do they have?
What ROADBLOCKS do they have? What RESULTS do they want? It makes sense, right?
And the last question came up about a week later from a different source. In the morning, while I’m working out, I play video courses or audio books…
That morning, I had a mindset training playing by Tony Robbins. He was talking about the 6 human needs: Certainty, Uncertainty/Variety, Significance, Connection/Love, Growth, and Contribution…
And he told about that everybody has all these needs and 1-2 them are the strongest needs in every person…
And I was trying to understand which ones are the strongest in myself and what needs are driving me…
Only a couple of days later, I realised that it is not only for self-development, it is also key for defining our ideal leads. Figuring out WHAT their driving needs are…
Certainty, or Variety, or Significance, or Connection/Love, or Growth, or Contribution. Are you getting this?
Okay, so these are the 9 questions that can make a change in your lead generation, get you better leads and more leads…
And the reason why that happens is because when you answer those questions in detail…
…that gives detailed insights to make every area of your lead generation optimized, creating your niche becomes easier. You can talk to your audience with a bigger impact…
It also helps driving the right traffic, capturing more and better leads. It gives you great ways to warm up your leads to have an optimised qualification process…
