Tax Twerk asked us to make their website ready. The first thing we did was a Website Speed Audit: the average load time of their website was 26.12 seconds. The worst part was that the page was just loading and not showing any content at all for average 17.82 seconds. There was nothing to grab the visitor’s attention and keep them there for about 18 seconds!
Researches show that slow page response time results in an increase in page abandonment. If a web page is slow visitors will leave sooner. 47% of visitors expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less. 40% of visitors will wait no more than 3 seconds for a web page to render before leave the website.
A slow website leads to loosing potential clients: those visitors who leave because of the website is slow they may never come back or contact you, and they will probably go to your competitor and spend their money there.

John Mueller at Google said the following about what the impact of a slow website is on Google: “We do say we have a small factor in there for pages that are really slow to load where we take that into account.”
It means if your website is slow Google ranks it a little lower.

This has resulted in us severely limiting the number of URLs we’ll crawl from your site.” It means if a website is slow Google might index that site slower. And it’s bad, especially if you’re adding new content or making changes regularly. Because that new content and changes will show up in Google later and people may will find your competitors’ website with a similar content before they find yours. And the impact on your business is that you’re loosing potential customer and money.
